Venice Access Fee

The Access fee is to promote sustainable and conscious tourism.
The Access Fee applies to specific dates between April 25- July 14, 2024
WHO HAS TO PAY? HOW MUCH?
Day visitors to the city on certain dates in 2024 from April 25- July 14 
:5 Euro per person
WHO IS EXEMPT?
Clients who are staying in hotels on the island do not pay the Access Fee.
They must register for an exemption.
Children under the age of 14 years old do not pay.
Clients who are transiting through Piazzale Roma (the bus terminus), Tronchetto or the Stazione Marittima (Cruise port) will be exempt as long as they don’t cross into the “Old City.”

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON’T PAY IT.
For those who do not pay it, the penalties range from 50-300 euros, plus an additional 10 euros to cover the entrance fee.
There are check points at many of the main entries into the Old City where proof (the OR code) will need to be shown.
NEED TO KNOW:
For those who forgot to pay the fee, there will be the option to pay the fee at Venice Piazzale Roma or the Santa Lucia train station. To avoid waiting in line, it is recommended to pre-pay online.
For people transiting between the Piazzale Roma, Tronchetto and the Stazione Marittima, for example Cruise passengers coming in from the airport and going directly to the Port (Stazione Marittima), they will not have to pay the tax as long as they do not go into the Old City.

If you have pre booked the Access Fee and have decided to no longer visit during the dates listed above, you can cancel up to 11.59 p.m. on the day before your booked visit.
If you have a hotel booked in the Old City, your tourist tax (paid at the hotel) covers you from the day of arrival until the day of departure, no need to supplement with the Access Fee.
