When I first starting traveling, it was all about the destination. The hotel for me just had to be clean and close to the main sites.
I Remember when that changed, we were in Costa Rica and my husband and I were getting our chairs ready to watch the sunset. I looked up at the beach front rooms and thought next time we travel to a beach destination I should book those.
It was not until I worked for a global travel company that I realized how much money I could save by booking ahead, as we always booked last minute, what I had been paying for the garden view room would have paid for those beach front rooms if I had booked in advance.
It was time to get clever about traveling; today it is so much easier to book ahead as hotels have amazing cancellation policies, may that continue.
